In the final clip of the True Riches series, Dr. Swanson talks about how comparison breeds discontentment, and how Jesus dealt with it in scripture. He also reassures us with the promise that God is sovereign, and true contentment comes through a relationship with Jesus.

In the third part of this series, Dr. Swanson discusses the question "How do we know our faith is real and worth living for?"  He provides answers to doubters of the Christian faith, including the proof of the cross - the fork in the road of human history. "A life that is given to Christ has ultimate worth and value because of his redemption of us at the cross." -Dr. Swanson

"Everyone has to answer the same question at the end: Was what we chose to give our life for, did it turn out to be worth it? Did it give us what we thought it would?" -Dr. Swanson

Dr. Swanson talks about how Stephen must have had to face this question in Acts 7 when he was about to be stoned for his faith, and God answered that question for him by revealing heaven.

Dr. Swanson talks about suffering as it relates to subjects such as infertility, cancer, and losing a child. He also talks about how many people misunderstand 1 Corinthians 10:13, and how we can come together and come to the cross when we need comfort.

_ Dr. Swanson shares from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. The Bible teaches that God will comfort us with His presence when we are suffering. God will not waste our pain. He will give us the opportunity to comfort others.

_ Pain and suffering are the common denominators of the human experience. God told us we would have trouble. There will be trials and ordeals.

We are going to deal with suffering, wounds, loss and pain in this life.

Dr. Swanson teaches from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 which provides assurance that God promises to comfort us when we are in pain. He comforts us with His presence.

When someone is in need they are comforted by the presence of another, so it is with God. The power of the scripture is that God will come and be with us. The presence of the living God dwells with us that gives us hope and comforts us.

He also assures us that our pain is never going to be wasted. It will be redeemed because God will give us the opportunity to comfort others with the comfort He has given us.
